DocuMint compares the extracted text content of two documents with AI. It does not perform a pixel-level, layout, or formatting comparison — it's built for understanding how the content itself differs, not how the pages look.
Limitations
- AI-generated comparisons can make mistakes.
- DocuMint doesn't use OCR, so scanned or image-only PDFs may not provide usable text.
- The comparison is based on extracted text — purely visual, layout, or image differences aren't compared.
- Complex PDF layouts can affect how well text is extracted, which can affect the comparison.
- Check anything important against the original documents.
What happens to your PDFs
- Both PDF files stay in your browser — they are not uploaded to DocuMint's server.
- Each document's text is extracted locally, in your browser.
- When you request a comparison, the extracted text from both documents is sent to DocuMint's server and then to our AI provider, OpenAI, to generate the result.
- DocuMint does not store the uploaded documents or the comparison result on its servers.

How do I compare two PDF documents?

What does DocuMint compare?
DocuMint compares the extracted text content of both documents with AI — not their visual appearance. You get an overview, similarities, differences, and content found in only one document.
Can DocuMint compare changes in PDF formatting or layout?
No. This is a content comparison based on extracted text, not a visual, pixel, or layout comparison. Formatting-only changes generally won't show up as differences.
Can I compare scanned PDFs?
DocuMint doesn't perform OCR. A scanned or image-only PDF with no real text layer won't provide usable text to compare.
Are my PDF files uploaded?
The PDF files themselves stay in your browser and are not uploaded to DocuMint's server. When you request a comparison, the extracted text from both documents is sent through DocuMint's server to OpenAI to generate the result.
Does DocuMint store my documents?
